About the Project

We are conducting a survey to understand people's perception of fairness in certain real-world situations.

This survey is part of a larger project that is exploring how people's understanding of fairness influences their behavior.

We believe that this research is important because it can help us create more just and equitable societies.

If you are interested in participating in the survey, please contact Lisette Espín-Noboa (espin@csh.ac.at).

  • This survey is open to all researchers within academia, from PhD students to senior faculty members.
  • This online, invitation-only survey targets all SCOPUS corresponding authors from 2010-2023.
  • There are no right or wrong answers to the survey questions.
  • We use OpenAlex (openalex.org) to extract the information about your collaboration and citation networks.
  • We use three Python libraries, gender-guesser, ethnicolr, and ethnicseer, to infer name-gender and name-ethnicity as proxies for these two characteristics.
  • The data collected from the survey will be used for research purposes only.
  • Participation is completely voluntary, and can opt-out at any time by "unsubscribing" from the mailing list or request via email.
  • The survey is anonymous and personal information will not be shared.
  • We collect and store data (i.e., survey responses) only after the participant's consent (see our Terms and Conditions).
  • The list of corresponding authors will be deleted after the completion of this study.

This is a Digital Humanism 2020 project funded by the WWTF.
